The Chemistry Club volunteers each fall with the Dayton ACS chapter for Chemfest at the BoonShoft Museum of Discovery's. We help with science table demonstrations for kids to show them how cool science is. Chemfest at Boonsoft Mueseum of Discovery at 11pm-4pm

Kodak Facilities Tour

Wayne Cook, a local ACS member, took a group of WSU Chemistry Club students on a tour of the Kodak, high speed digital printing, facilities located in the Miami Valley Research Park. In addition to the tour of Reasearch and Development areas, there was a small informal discussion where, Mr. Cook, along with a few of his colleagues gave advice on the best practices for someone searching for job opportunities. Chemistry Demonstation

The Chemistry Club is excited to present the Chemistry Demo Show to demonstrate how cool science can be and tell about the science behind the big bangs and explosions. This is a free Dayton/WSU community event that will be held April 11th at 7pm in 112 Oelman Hall. Photographs of the event.

Trivia with the Professors – February 19, 2014

The Chemistry Club in collaboration with the Biology Club and the Pre-med Society would like to invite all students to our annual Trivia Night. Every year we invite students and professors from the biology and chemistry departments to a competition of smarts. February 19, 2014, 6:00pm 129 MedicalSciences Building. Photographs of the event.

Techfest

TechFest™ is free family fun with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Participate in approximately 70 hands-on experiences with STEM exhibits, demonstrations and games. Stage and theatre speakers, such as an NASA astronaut or an Air Force flight test pilot, an outstanding college professor, a classical guitar player and others deliver entertaining and informative talks on STEM topics. Sponsored by the Affiliate Societies Council of Dayton. Held annually in February, we volunteer with the Dayton ACS to do science table demonstrations for kids.

Bowling with the Professors - September 20th, 2013

The chemistry club is inviting the chemistry faculty, staff, and students to join in a night of bowling at Pla-Mor Lanes, 4901 Linden Ave. Dayton, OH. The event is normally held during the Fall Semester.  The cost is $5 per person and that price includes bowling for 2.5 hours, (pizza, drinks,and snacks included). This year's event is free to paid members and the event will start at 6:30pm. Please let one of the officers of the chemistry club know if you are interested or have any further questions.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Guest Speaker- October 4th, 2013

Each year we try to have a guest speaker, going along with the ACS theme of the year, talk to our students about their research and how students can get involved in an undergraduate research experience. This semester, Dr. Aga will be talking to us about her energy research and her experiences. We will be meeting in 103 Oelman Hall, Friday Oct. 4th from 10:00am-11:00am. Drinks will be provided.

Renaissance Festival- October 19th, 2013

Join the Chemistry Club for a relaxing time away from studying. We will be carpooling from the Student Union at 10:30 am on Oct. 19th. $10.00 for paid members, $15.00 for non-paid members. Please email the officers if interested!

National Chemistry Week- October 20-26, 2013

Join us out on the quad the week of 10/20-10/26 for some awesome chemistry demonstrations! This years theme is "Energy: Now and Forever".

Mini-U Trick-or-Treating Chemistry Demo's

Every year the Mini-U comes to the library for story time and trick-or-treating. This year, the chemistry club is setting up a table for the kids to help make and take gak home and see how cool science is!

Fall Fest/April Craze

Come out and enjoy the WSU tradition! This year Chemistry Club has UV Beads to peak your interest in chemistry. Last year we made ice cream from liquid nitrogen at April Craze!! Come check us out and see what cool things we're doing at our booth this year!
