In a letter recently published in Nature, Prof. Chad R. Hammerschmidt from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, ES Ph.D. student Kaitlin Bowman along with their co-authors report on their findings from a study of anthropogenic mercury in the Pacific, Atlantic, Southern and Arctic Oceans.  The letter suggests that ocean surface waters contain approximately 3 times more mercury when compared with levels present before anthropogenic inputs.  To learn more, see the article in the...
