About

Catherine Evers Smith

Hello, my name is Catherine Evers Smith.  I am currently in my second year at Wright State.  I am majoring in chemistry and on the pre-med track.  I am currently treasurer for the chemistry club and a member of the Pre-Health Society and the Student Honors Association.  I also play for Airstrike, Wright State’s club ultimate frisbee team.  I am employed as a learning assistant for General Chemistry II.  I also have a passion for discovery and have spent the past year doing research with Dr.  Kuppuswamy where we are investigating the cytotoxicity of redox active N-heterocyclic Carbene annulated Gold complexes.  Out in the community, I volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital, as part of the Hospital Elder Life Program, and at the Center for Neurological Development in Burkettsville.  After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan on pursuing a MD-PhD and becoming a medical scientist.   I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Dean’s Circle and look forward to promoting student faculty relationships and student opportunities in the College of Science and Math.  Lastly I’d be more than happy to answer any questions or take any suggestions you might have.
