About

Annabel Vivian Almazan

My name is Annabel Vivian Almazan, and I am a senior, majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in French. After earning my undergraduate degree, I plan to continue my education for a career in medicine.

I am also involved in other organizations, being a member of the Honors Director’s Student Advisory Board and the current President of C.J. McLin Jr. Scholars Association. In addition, I am doing research as a part of the Boonshoft School of Medicine’s BioSTAR Program, working in Dr. Quan Zhong’s lab to study genetic interaction networks in a yeast model system to gain insight into pathways leading to neurodegenerative disorders. From my experience in the program, I’ve learned the importance of immersing oneself in undergraduate research, as well as the questions some students might have in getting involved. I want to improve student-faculty connections and to contribute to the College of Science and Math by representing its students. If you have any questions, concerns, or simply want to say, ‘hello,’ feel free to reach out to me!
