Libby Roberson was awarded Third Place for outstanding presentation of entomological research in the PhD student competition at a meeting of the North Central Branch of the Entomological Society of America meeting in Cleveland. Her talk in the Systematic, Evolution, and Biodiversity section was entitled "Burning bush (Euonymous alatus) and deer alter spider assemblages". Libby is advised by Don Cipollini. Congratulations to Libby!
Kara Geremia was recently profiled on OhioLINK's website for her extensive use of OhioLINK to support her graduate school reseach efforts. Kara recently completed her Chemistry Master's Thesis “Computational Estimation of the pKa’s of Purines and Related Compounds” under the guidance of Co-Advisor's, Dr. Eric Fossum and Dr. Paul Seybold.
This Fall semester a new undergraduate neuroscience course will be offered for the first time. It is entitled How the Nervous System Works I, and is listed as BIO 4040-01. It will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:05-11:45AM. It is geared towards students generally interested in the nervous system, as well as pre-med students, and is designed to be taken by juniors and seniors.
