Dorothy Lucille Ayres, grew-up in Oakwood and was attracted to Wright State because of the university's excellent psychology program, specifically in Human Factors psychology.  She said, "psychology has intrigued me ever since I was around twelve or thirteen, when I was introduced to the concept of personality psychology. On April 6th - 8th, the College of Science and Mathematics held the first weekend intensive innovation "hackathon" event. The goal of this event, and future events of this type, is to engage students from diverse majors in addressing long-standing problems of significance in both the military and public sectors.
