The Department of Psychology hosted a one-day workshop to acknowledge the research and career of John M. Flach who retired from Wright State University on May 1, 2017. The workshop featured presentation by his students, collaborators, and colleagues. It was followed by a reception for family, friends, students, and professionals to gather and celebrate his acheivements and the significance of his scholarship and research in the academic community and beyond.

Flach's career intersected many people and many places.  The event was reminicent of an academic version of ‘this is your life’ with several good talks, lots of congratulatory language and an appreciative audience.  Yet this is not the end of a distinguised career, or as he said in his blog; Not my last lecture. In the blog PerspicacityFlach shares his activities after academia and his thoughts on the human experience.  As he begins his Second Mile, he will do so with the kind regards of many.
