The mayor of La Mancha, Spain, presented the city's Hijo Predilecto de la Ciudad award to Julian Gomez-Cambronero, Ph.D., professor of biochemistry & molecular biology. The award, which translates to "Favorite Son of the City," is given once every four years to individuals who have demonstrated special international achievements in the arts and sciences. La Mancha is Dr. Cambronero's hometown. In conjunction with the award, the city posted this YouTube video about Dr. Cambronero's life.
