Led by Wright State's seventh President Cheryl B. Schrader for the first time, students, families, faculty and staff celebrated the commencement of nearly 1,900 students at the fall graduation ceremony Dec. 16.

Wright State University’s 2017 fall commencement ceremony takes place Saturday, Dec. 16, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Wright State Nutter Center.

During her M.D./Ph.D. studies with the Boonshoft School of Medicine and the College of Science and Mathematics, Jessica Myers will research mental illness and functional magnetic resonance imaging.

The Alumni Association recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of Wright State alumni each year at the event.

Theadore Hufford, who received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Wright State, received the Alumni Association's Graduate of the Last Decade Award.

Originally founded as a branch campus of The Ohio State University and Miami University, Wright State became an independent institution in 1967.

The special Homecoming Week features a golf cart parade, chili cook-off, bonfire, dining-in-the-dark event and a reunion of Wright State’s founding classes.
