Neuroscience and Engineering Collaboration BuildingThe Department of Psychology seeks applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Human Cognitive Neuroscience to begin no later than August 1, 2014. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline with training in Cognitive Neuroscience. Post doctoral experience is preferred. Candidates must be actively engaged in research and show promise of establishing an externally funded research program. Preference will be given to candidates whose research contributes to our existing strengths in cognition, perception, and neuroscience.

Details

The Department of Psychology is housed in the College of Science and Mathematics, offers a Ph.D. in Human Factors and I/O Psychology, and has 3 undergraduate concentration areas: (1) Cognition and Perception, (2) Industrial/ Organizational, and (3) Behavioral Neuroscience. Candidates must be capable of teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of these areas. Additional opportunities for teaching and research will be available through the new interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Applied Science and Mathematics. Department of Psychology faculty are also eligible to supervise graduate students in the interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program.

Wright State’s neuroscience programs are undergoing rapid growth. We recently partnered with the Miami Valley Hospital to form a Neuroscience Institute for advancing research and patient care while also breaking ground for a new Neuroscience and Engineering Collaboration building to be completed in 2015. The proximity of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has yielded fruitful collaborations with human performance researchers at the Air Force Research Laboratory and with the Wright State Research Institute.
