Presidents Day may represent a welcomed day off from school for some students, but for the past 11 years, Wright State University's Pre-Health Program has organized and hosted the Path to Health Professions Day for high school students and their guests who are eager to explore career opportunities in health professions. This annual event offers presentations and tours for attendees to learn how to best prepare for their futures. This year's event attracted 225 participants who attended programs and exhibits from Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine and other health profession schools.
“The purpose of this event is to provide information to future and current Wright State students about the health professions and programs available to them,” said Jacqueline Neal, assistant dean in the College of Science and Mathematics. “It also builds relationships between Wright State undergraduate institutions with professional schools and admission representatives throughout Ohio.”
Path to Health Professions Day features exhibits by Wright State University, the Boonshoft School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, University of Dayton, Kent State University, Kettering College of Medical Arts, Ohio University, The Ohio State University, Cedarville University, Marietta College, Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, the U.S. Army and Test Prep.
Congratulations to Amanda Herbe and Harolynn Williams for convening a successful event. Next year's Path to Helath Professions Day is on February 15, 2016, be sure to mark your calendars and share this information with a student.
