Megan Leasher, Ph.D. Awarded by SIOP

Distinguished Early Career Contributions Practice

Megan Leasher, Ph.D. received the 2017 Distinguished Early Career Contributions for Practice by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).  Leasher is a 2007 alumnea of Wright State University's Human Factors and Industrial/Organizational Psychology Ph.D. program.  

As a recipient of this award, Leasher will be recognized at the 2017 SIOP Annual Conference in Orlando on April 27th. The award includes a cash prize and recognition in the SIOP Salutes brochure. She is invited to present her work at the 2018 SIOP conference in Chicago.

In addition to this distinguished award, Leasher was named a 2016 Rising Star by Human Resource Executive magazine and featured last summer in an article titled, "Part Psychologist, Part Scientist."

As Director of Talent Assesment and Measurement at Macy's Inc., Leasher oversees all enterprise-wide assessment programs for Macy’s stores, credit and merchant divisions, college recruiting, distribution centers, corporate offices, and select roles within Bloomingdale’s. She selects and creates assessments, designs hiring processes and tools, trains end users, and ensures both Return on investment and legal compliance.

While in the HF/IO program Leasher was a member of Department of Psychology, Associate Professor Corey Miller's lab. Dr. Miller's research interests includes personnel psychology, legal issues, and diversity management.  In an alumni profile Leasher credited the program for preparing her for her career in I/O, "My time in the I/O program at WSU taught me not only the science and research of I/O, but prepared me for the practical applications of I/O in organizations."
