Yes, two cats, and a grandcat who visits many days.
When did you know that you wanted to be a scientist/mathematician?
I knew I was headed toward science early in high school. I knew I wanted to study geology by the end of high school. I was lucky enough to have a geology course in high school. Less than a month in, I was sold.
What advice would you give yourself at 20-years-old?
Stay open to opportunities. Some of the best things appear when you aren’t planning; have the courage to take them on.
Who is your childhood hero?
My parents. They made all their children believe we could accomplish anything.
