PHY 7040 - Topics in the Philosophy of PhysicsCredit Hour(s): 3 The various overarching ideas in physics that give unity to the subject. Historical bases of these ideas are included. Topics include but are not limited to the experimental basis of physics, fundamental limits on measuring and of knowing, the physical nature of the cosmos, determinism, relativity, the quantum - continuum transition, the nature of space and time, entropy (H theorem) , Bell's theorem, Liouville's theorem.
