Welcome to the Pre-Health Program at Wright State University! Annually, WSU enrolls hundreds of students interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. Our Pre-Health program provides support to these students as well as an up-to-date understanding of the requirements and trends for professional programs in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, optometry, physician assistant, and pharmacy.

New Advisor Joins Pre-Health Team!

Jan-Marie Ruminski is an advisor for the Pre-Health Advising Program for the College of Science and Mathematics. Prior to working at Wright State University, she served as an advisor for third and fourth year medical students at Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her B.S. in Mathematical Statistics and her M.Ed. in Educational Research and Evaluation with a specialization in College Student Personnel from Ohio University. In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf, working out, watching Ohio Bobcats’ football games and spending time with her fiancé, family, and friends.

The Pre-Health Program and the Boonshoft School of Medicine have teamed up to give undergraduate Pre-Health students the opportunity to be mentored by current BSOM Medical Students. Mentors can help give advice on what to include on your med school application, how to write an effective personal statement, how to prepare for an interview, and study strategies for the MCAT.
